LIX#

LIX is the universal currency of the HELIX platform. It powers the entire creator economy, from world monetization (i.e. In-World Purchases) and developer services (i.e. Instant Hosting) to Collectibles and creator payouts.

LIX keeps everything inside HELIX simple, unified, and secure. Whether you're a player buying a cosmetic or a developer selling a package, LIX is how value moves through the ecosystem.

How LIX Works#

Players can purchase LIX using real currency from the HELIX website.

LIX can be used to:

  • Partake in in-world transactions through in-world purchases
  • Pay for server hosting, persistent storage, and platform services
  • Buy collectibles on the HELIX Market

All transactions occur within the HELIX ecosystem securely and leave a clear audit trail to prevent fraud or abuse; no external wallets, no third-party marketplaces.

Earning LIX as a Creator#

Creators earn LIX through:

  • Monetizing their worlds and servers
  • Selling packages on the HELIX Vault

When someone buys your creation or pays you in-world, the LIX is deposited directly into your account balance as Earned LIX.

Payouts & Platform Fees#

Creators can convert earned LIX into real currency once they meet eligibility and verification requirements by submitting a payout.

When a payout is issued, HELIX applies a platform fee. This fee supports platform operations, payment processing, hosting, security, and creator infrastructure.

Example:
If a creator submits a payout request for 100,000 LIX and the platform fee is 30%, the creator receives 70,000 LIX (~$700 USD) to their selected payout method (i.e. bank account).

Purchased vs. Earned LIX#

To protect the economy and comply with regulations, LIX is separated into two internal categories:

  • Purchased LIX — bought with real currency.
  • Can be spent anywhere inside HELIX

  • Cannot be cashed out

  • Earned LIX — gained through legitimate creator activity.

  • Eligible for payout conversion

This prevents abuse, fraud, or currency arbitrage while keeping the economy stable and fair.

Compliance & Legal Notes#

LIX is a closed-loop virtual currency, not a cryptocurrency.
It is not traded on exchanges and has no blockchain component.

All LIX purchases are final and non-refundable except where required by law.

Payouts are handled through approved partners; creators may need to verify identity and tax information before receiving funds.

Is LIX required to play HELIX?#

No, players and creators can use HELIX for free without ever purchasing LIX. LIX is a purely optional layer.

Can I gift LIX to another player?#

Direct LIX gifting is not supported.

Can players cash out LIX?#

Only earned LIX can be converted to real currency. Purchased LIX cannot be withdrawn.

Does LIX expire?#

No. LIX remains in your account indefinitely unless required otherwise by regional laws.

Can I get a refund for LIX purchases?#

LIX purchases are non-refundable, except where legally mandated. All LIX spent on collectibles or services is final.

What happens if my LIX balance reaches zero?#

You won’t be able to complete any LIX transactions. Free gameplay and free creator tools remain fully accessible.

Is LIX considered a cryptocurrency or token?#

No. LIX is a traditional virtual currency stored on HELIX servers. It has no blockchain, no gas fees, and no external trading.

Do creators get paid automatically?#

No. Creators must manually request a payout. Verification is required before the first payout.

What happens if someone fraudulently buys my content?#

HELIX has fraud-prevention and chargeback systems. In confirmed cases, the fraudulent buyer is removed and the transaction is reversed internally without penalizing legitimate creators.
